GUIDED RECREATIONAL OUTINGS
: Terry and Brenda (but especially Terry!) are avid outdoor enthusiasts and would be happy to help you plan an outdoor excursion. There are several rail/trail options in the area that are perfect for long distance running or biking. We even have some paddle/pedal options where you can combine canoeing (or kayaking) with biking (or running) and never have to go out on a road! For guests who want to bring their own equipment, we can offer storage. We also have some limited equipment and there are local rentals. We can even accompany you or help with shuttle arrangements. Just contact us to discuss your preferences and we’ll work out the fees accordingly! Go to these websites for more information on area trails:  www.holmestrail.org; www.ohioanderiecanalway.com; and www.starkparks.com/Tour-Sippo_Valley_Mass.htm

IT'S SO EASY BEING GREEN: As a prior Environmental Educator, Brenda tries to incorporate environmentally friendly practices that do not inconvenience guests. One of these activities is composting with worms in the basement! The fancy term for this is vermiculture, and this is easy and odorless way to get rid of garbage also creates a high quality plant food. If you are interested in learning more about compositing (or any other environmental activities at THE CORNERSTONE), just let Brenda know. She might even send some worms home with you!

ANTIQUE CAR BUFFS: Rev up that engine and put some elbow grease into waxing that historic car! Sugarcreek hosts the “Fabulous 50’s” car show the second weekend in June and in 2007, there were over 400 beautiful old cars to view. THE CORNERSTONE is the perfect place to stay for this event – the antique cars start lining up for viewing in the next block from us! Plus, if you are an exhibitor, THE CORNERSTONE has an oversized garage to store your car when not showing it off (and to buff up that last minute wax job). There is a minimal fee for the use of the garage.
